Preheat an oven to 160*C

For the topping, slice the orange into thin circular pieces, then halve. In a pot, melt 100g butter and toss orange slices and aniseed stars in melted butter, cooking for 5-8 minutes. Set aside on a paper towel to drain.

Step 3

For the brownie, melt the butter, dark chocolate, orange marmalade, malt extract, molasses, honey, golden syrup and brown sugar together in a pot. Stir until a smooth melted liquid is formed.

Step 4

Remove from heat and let cool for 10-15 mins. Add the eggs one at a time, stirring quickly after each egg. Then, add flour and stir quickly.

Step 5

Pour batter into a greased baking tin and top with prepared orange slices and aniseed topping.

Bake for 40-45 minutes, then cool on a wire rack.
